Job summary

Ellwood Aluminum Company is seeking an Aluminum Casting Operator at our Hubbard, OH facility. The role involves preparing the casting area, maintaining the cast, taking samples for quality testing, and assisting other departments as needed.

You will work day or night shifts on a rotating schedule with potential overtime. We offer competitive wages from $17.50/hour with training, progressive increases for cross training, full benefits, and a 401(k) with generous matching.

Qualifications

• Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire, Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
• Must pass minimal physical test and background screening
• Candidates must be able to work the shift they are scheduled: We have day or night shifts
• Physical effort required by the job includes standing, stooping, pulling, pushing, climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to cross train

Responsibilities

• Organization and housekeeping of the casting area, cleaning and basic maintenance of related equipment
• Completes pre-cast setup to the requirements of the casting operation
• Inspects casting setup for correctness and to ensure successful cast
• Collects metal samples during casting and delivers them for quality testing
• Removes, replaces and setup drain pans for continuous operation
• Operates remote control crane as required
• Performs minor repairs and cleaning of tooling
• Services troughing, molds and additional equipment as necessary pre and post cast
• Monitor cast for any defects and notify supervisor if necessary
• Completes reports and logs as necessary
• Notifies Control Room Operator and or Supervisor of any shortages in consumables
• Notifies Control Room Operator and or Supervisor of any potential concerns or issues in production
