Job summary

SkillSource is seeking a Certificated Alternative Learning Instructor to support students aged 16–21. The role provides instruction and individualized programming across Open Doors and Alternative Learning programs, in partnership with Wenatchee School District and local agencies.

The instructor will guide learners toward GED or high school diploma attainment, using competency-based, personalized learning within a twelve-month academic year.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching basic skills emphasizing math, reading and vocational skills.
• Proven experience working with at-risk youth and low skilled adults.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Spanish language ability preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient with LMS and Microsoft/Google tools.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in basic and vocational skills, guiding individuals or groups.
• Operate and manage educational software and assist with coursework.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and establish clear student conduct expectations.
• Develop lesson plans and curriculum; prepare training aids and materials.
• Assess students and develop individual learning plans; monitor progress.
• Meet with students to review goals and provide counseling; coordinate with staff.
• Operate learning management systems and keep proper records.
• Attend staff meetings and training to maintain professional competence.
