Job summary

East Central Ohio ESC is seeking a qualified Teacher to work with students in an alternative setting. The role focuses on tailoring courses, monitoring progress, and providing a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities include planning lessons aligned with state requirements, supporting IEPs, and reporting student development. The position emphasizes collaboration with staff to promote student education in an alternative learning setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is required.
• Licensure appropriate for position through Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.
• Record free of violations which would prohibit employment in public education.
• Prior experience in teaching or alternative learning environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educates students by planning and developing courses of study according to district guidelines and state requirements.
• Tailors course of study by developing modifications for several levels of academic ability and previous achievement.
• Develops and presents lesson plans using a variety of techniques and media.
• Monitors and grades student results and conducts standardized tests in accordance with district policies and state law.
• Maintains classroom order and supports students with behavioral and social needs; collaborates on IEPs as necessary.
• Keeps district informed by maintaining records of academic performance and reporting on student development.
• Provides student support services by monitoring study periods and activities.
• Participates in staff meetings and educational opportunities to update knowledge.
