Job summary

Ares Management is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Alternative Credit team in Atlanta or New York. You will monitor private investments, support deal teams, and manage asset-ownership tasks with portfolio companies.

The role emphasizes analytical rigor and strategic financial analysis. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in finance or accounting, strong Excel skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related field.
• Strong communication, quantitative, financial, and analytical skills.
• 2+ years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in structured finance/securitization.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including index & match, macros, and array formulas.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative problem solver with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage a portfolio of private investments.
• Support deal teams with assigned investments.
• Handle general asset management tasks like fund confirmations and monthly settlements.
• Communicate frequently with portfolio companies.
• Develop and run complex models for valuation and reporting.
• Perform mark-to-market valuations and analyze asset-level trends.
