Unity House of Troy seeks a part-time Alternating Weekend Advocate to support the Domestic Violence program in Troy, NY. The role offers weekend shifts (morning 7:30–3:30 or evening 3:30–11:30) and an hourly wage of about $18.88.

You will provide crisis intervention, hotline coverage, and supportive contact for residents, while upholding trauma-informed and victim-centered practices in a respectful, inclusive environment.

Formación

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 1–2 years experience working with domestic violence victims preferred.
• Experience with hotline and crisis management is a plus.

Responsabilidades

The Domestic Violence program at Unity House of Troy has openings for a part-time Alternating Weekend Advocate position for either morning 7:30AM-3:30PM or evening 3:30PM-11:30PM.

Responsibilities:

Provide coverage for staff, while ensuring the satisfactory and safe functioning of the Domestic Violence emergency residence.

Answer phones and texts including the Unity House Domestic Violence Hotline and NYS Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault/PREA Hotlines.

Requirements:

High school diploma/GED and 1-2 years previous experience working with victims of domestic violence, hotline and crisis management experience preferred. Reliable transportation and a valid NYS driver's license is helpful.
