Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking an early-career Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to provide day-to-day cybersecurity oversight for multiple classified systems, with emphasis on SIPRNet environments connected to the DoDIN.

You will support RMF/ATO maintenance, eMASS administration, continuous monitoring, and government reviews, reporting to the Senior ISSM/Cybersecurity Team Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5–7 yrs of experience, or Master's with 3–5 yrs
• 5+ years of cybersecurity, information assurance, or related IT environments, including classified Gov systems
• 2+ years in ISSM or senior cybersecurity leadership responsibilities
• Experience with RMF/ATO lifecycle activities and DoD/DoDI/NIST guidance
• Hands-on with eMASS or similar governance-risk-compliance platforms
• Familiarity with vulnerability tools (ACAS/Tenable) and patch management
• Ability to communicate risk and status to technical and leadership stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Serve as Alternate ISSM for assigned classified systems with day-to-day cybersecurity compliance
• Support RMF/ATO lifecycle activities including system categorization and assessment
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation (SSPs, ATO packages, POA&Ms)
• Administer eMASS records and artifacts
• Maintain assessment and inspection readiness and support DoD reviews
• Review changes for security impact and reflect in RMF artifacts
• Coordinate cybersecurity matters with technical teams and stakeholders
• Support DoD cybersecurity policies, templates, and documentation
• Assist with incidents and urgent vulnerabilities as required
