Job summary

Von Maur seeks an Alterations Associate to expertly tailor a range of garments, from beaded formalwear to tailored pieces, while delivering superior customer service. You will measure, pin, and alter garments, repair damaged items, and maintain a clean, organized work area in a fast-paced department store setting.

Candidates should be proficient in basic and advanced alterations and be prepared to work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure exceptional fit and satisfaction for every guest.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be professionally competent in all basic and most advanced alterations.

Responsibilities

• Own the customer experience – greet people sincerely, be friendly and thank every customer
• Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications
• Disassemble, sew and/or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fitting – use iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers
• Repair damaged or defective merchandise
• Garment work may range from basic to moderately difficult sewing/alteration procedures
• Maintain a clean department and work area
