Von Maur is seeking an Alterations Associate to join America’s Leading Department Store, offering stylish alterations from formal dresses with beading to tailored outfits. You will measure, fit, pin, sew and press garments and repair any damage, ensuring every alteration meets high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing excellence and a helpful attitude during fittings and alterations.
• Ability to take measurements, mark, and pin garments to customer specifications.
• Proficiency in sewing and finishing alterations to garment quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the customer experience – greet people sincerely, be friendly and thank every customer
• Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications
• Disassemble, sew and/or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fitting – use iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers
• Repair damaged or defective merchandise
• Garment work may range from basic to moderately difficult sewing/alteration procedures
• Maintain a clean department and work area
