Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking a Tailor/Fitter to provide high-quality alterations and exemplary service. You will measure, fit, and alter garments, using sewing skills to meet Nordstrom guidelines and customer needs.

Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential in a fast-paced retail setting. Expected duties include educating customers on fit and construction while collaborating with the Alterations & Store Team; the role supports flexible scheduling and performance-based

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of fitting, tailoring or sewing experience.
• Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing/pressing equipment.
• Flexibility to adapt work schedule to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Measure customers for size and mark alterations on garments.
• Perform fittings and sewing alterations in a timely manner per Nordstrom standards.
• Meet department and individual productivity goals following procedures.
• Use store technology to manage and organize alteration requests.
• Collaborate with Alterations & Store Team to meet customer expectations.
• Educate customers and employees on fit, style, construction, and trends in a friendly manner.
