Job summary

Neiman Marcus in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Alterations Associate to produce high-quality altered merchandise within established timeframes while delivering exemplary customer service. You will apply expertise in tailoring and pressing a wide range of luxury garments, maintain workmanship standards, and communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction.

We value technicians with leather, knits, beading, and fine tailoring skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years seamstress/tailoring experience in high-end merchandise.
• Ability to tailor and press a wide range of garments.
• Strong technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes.

YOU WILL BE

Under direction from the Alterations Manager, the Alterations Associate is responsible for producing high quality altered merchandise within established time frame standards while providing customer service, establishing and helping to maintain customer relationships and working effectively with other team members within the store.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Minimum 5 years seamstress/tailoring experience in high-end merchandise
• Ability to tailor and press a wide range of garments
• Possession of strong technical background in specialty skills such as: leather, knits, double face, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes etc. is desired and a benefit.
• Pressing and spotting skills.
• Knowledge of Alterations industry including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise.
• Be open to learning and developing new skills and processes.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Salary Range

Salary Range $31.26 - $39.07* Compensation for this role varies by geographic location. The listed range reflects multiple markets, including higher-cost areas. Actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience, and other job-related factors.
