Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking an entry-level Supervisor for its Alternatives division within a fund administrator. The role blends hands-on Senior Fund Accountant work with reviewing NAVs, supporting junior accountants and building direct client relationships.

You will work closely with the Assistant Manager and Manager, gaining exposure to private equity, private credit and hedge funds while developing supervisory capabilities and progressing to take on greater responsibility over time.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' fund accounting experience, preferably in alternatives.
• Experience preparing NAVs, reconciliations and accounting reports; move toward review.
• Exposure to private equity, private credit or hedge funds.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent.
• Intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deliverables.
• Clear communication and development of direct client relationships.
• A collaborative and proactive approach to learning and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review NAV calculations, reconciliations, accounting reports and client reporting packages.
• Maintain accurate investment pricing, transaction records and supporting documentation.
• Review junior accountants' work and resolve issues before finalising deliverables.
• Support junior colleagues with daily accounting tasks, training and supervision over time.
• Build direct relationships with investment managers and coordinate reporting deadlines.
• Collaborate with Assistant Manager and Manager to prioritise workloads.
• Coordinate and support year-end audits ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Assist with team development, performance discussions and recruitment as supervision grows.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client delivery.
