Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Paramedic responsible for providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) services and safe patient transport. The role involves timely response, on-scene assessment, and coordination with police, fire, and healthcare teams within New Jersey guidelines.

Strong communication and EMS documentation are essential. You will perform pre-hospital care across age groups, ensure readiness of vehicles and equipment, and participate in ongoing training and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; ICS/NIMS courses referenced.
• Paramedic certifications: Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic or NREMT-Paramedic or MICN; BLS.
• ACLS or ACLS Instructor; PALS or PALS Instructor.
• Pediatric Life Support certifications (PALS)
• Valid driver's license; EVOC within 90 days.
• NIMS/NRC/NIMS ICS requirements listed.
• Excellent communication and computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls in a timely manner.
• Assists public safety personnel and healthcare providers during patient care.
• Performs assessments and prioritizes medical procedures.
• Maintains patient data and handoffs per policy.
• Operates EMS equipment and ambulances safely.
• Documents and reports all incidents per policy.
