Job summary

Tailored Management seeks a Scientist for the Neurology Research Unit's ALS group in Cambridge, MA. The role focuses on exploratory discovery of molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying ALS and related neurodegenerative diseases, using genomics, proteomics, and cellular assays.

You will design and perform a range of experiments, generate reproducible data, and work with a multidisciplinary team to advance therapeutic targets. The position is onsite for a 12-month term.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in molecular and cellular biology with genomics/proteomics understanding.
• Hands-on molecular biology techniques: qPCR, ddPCR, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, transfection or viral transduction.
• Experience in protein analysis, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy or cellular assays.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and analyze molecular biology experiments including qPCR/ddPCR.
• Conduct protein-based assays and proteomic studies using HTRF/AlphaLISA/MSD platforms.
• Perform mammalian cell culture, transfection, and viral transduction.
• Support target validation through immunostaining and fluorescence microscopy.
• Co-localization, morphological and phenotypic assessments for ALS targets.
• Assist with experimental design, assay development, optimization and troubleshooting.
• Generate and document reproducible data, create figures and presentations.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure safety, quality and data integrity.
