Job summary

OmniCable is seeking an Allocations Specialist to join the Purchasing Department. This role collaborates with Sales and DC teams to optimize inventory use at order entry and report to the Allocations Manager.

The position emphasizes analyzing inventories of master reels, consolidating shipments, and minimizing costs while meeting customer order requirements. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Analytical mindset to assess inventories and logistics factors.
• Ability to consider freight costs, transit times, and order profitability when making decisions.
• Strong numeric and math skills for inventory management and allocation decisions.
• Excellent communication with sales, DC teams, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day item allocation to satisfy orders and preserve future inventory.
• Consolidate shipments using nearest warehouse locations to minimize shipping points.
• Assign orders to Distribution teams to support Just in Time operations.
• Communicate inventory decisions affecting service and profitability to the sales team.
• Discard unsellable wire lengths at assignment with inventory control methods.
• Collaborate with sales on large/complex orders to optimize inventory use.
• Coordinate with DC leadership on special instructions for order assignments.
• Review customer returns and approve/disapprove return requests.
• Support Operations department objectives as needed.
• Assist other departments to ensure proper order execution.
