Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Allergy team at Mass General Brigham's site at 40 Tremont Street. The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, and handling front desk duties to keep clinic operations running smoothly.

You will work with providers and care teams to deliver high-quality patient care, while also greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and supporting with immunizations when qualified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• 1–2 years direct Medical Assistant experience or related medical field work.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and patient-centered communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment with accuracy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, privacy, and electronic health record systems.
• Ability to take vital signs and collect specimens as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and room patients, prepare exam rooms, and ensure providers have the needed equipment.
• Interview patients, document medical information, and record vital signs.
• Explain treatments and provider instructions to patients for informed care.
• Assist with specimens and phlebotomy when competency is demonstrated.
• Support immunization inventory and administer immunizations when certified or experienced.
• Front desk duties: answer phones, schedule appointments, check-in/out, and support patient flow.
• Contribute to quality and safety practices, including privacy and hand hygiene.
