Job summary

Grand-Rapids-Ear,-Nose-and-Throa is seeking an Allergy Medical Assistant to join our established practice. You will escort patients, document medical histories, and coordinate care under the provider’s direction.

Responsibilities include scheduling allergy testing, performing basic testing and injections where needed, maintaining exam rooms, and delivering friendly, efficient patient service. A medical background with strong communication is valued, with opportunity for growth.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • One year of experience in the medical field is preferred but not required.
  • Medical assistant certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent customer service and computer skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are important.
  • Detail oriented and able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to the exam room.
  • Provide and coordinate efficient patient care while documenting the patient’s medical history and pertinent information from their visit.
  • Ensure all documentation accurately reflects the patient encounter and plan of care.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Some areas may require injections, PFTs, basic patient education, and triage calls under provider supervision.
  • Schedule allergy testing and immunotherapy.
  • Perform allergy and penicillin testing, write prescriptions, administer injections.
  • Sterilize, maintain and restock exam rooms and instruments.
