Job summary

Los Angeles Food Allergy Institute (DBA: AllergyDox & HeyAllergy) in Burbank, CA seeks a reliable Medical Assistant for a full-time, in-person role. Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $31.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

The role involves assisting with in-person and telehealth visits, allergy testing, injections, spirometry, and EHR documentation, with training provided on our office protocols and allergy-specific procedures.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant training and/or relevant Medical Assistant experience.
• Strong patient-care and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain accurate medical histories and document information appropriately.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with computers and electronic health records.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy medical-office environment.
• Reliable, professional, respectful, and team-oriented.
• Ability to reliably commute to Burbank, CA.
• Ability to make a minimum two-year commitment to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with in-person and telehealth patient visits
• Room patients and obtain accurate medical histories
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record
• Administer allergy injections
• Assist with skin prick testing and patch testing
• Assist with food and drug challenges
• Perform spirometry and other clinical testing
• Assist with preparation and custom mixing of allergy medications as applicable
• Process medication refill requests under provider direction
• Respond to patient calls and clinical inquiries
• Schedule patients and assist with front-office responsibilities when needed
• Use Tebra (Kareo) for patient documentation, scheduling, and other clinical workflows
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas
• Follow infection-control, OSHA, HIPAA, and patient-safety protocols
• Work collaboratively with providers, Medical Assistants, and front-office staff to maintain efficient patient flow
