AllergyDox | HeyAllergy | Los Angeles Food Allergy Institute in Burbank, CA is seeking a reliable Medical Assistant to join our team. This in-person role supports providers during visits and handles routine patient care, with training on allergy-immunology protocols.

About the Position

We are seeking a reliable, professional, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, works well in a team environment, and is interested in developing their clinical skills within the field of Allergy and Immunology.

Our Medical Assistants work closely with our providers and patients and are involved in both routine patient care and specialized Allergy/Immunology procedures. We provide training on our office protocols and specialty-specific procedures.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, in-person position in Burbank, California.

Compensation: $25.00–$31.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with in-person and telehealth patient visits
• Room patients and obtain accurate medical histories
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record
• Administer allergy injections
• Assist with skin prick testing and patch testing
• Assist with food and drug challenges
• Perform spirometry and other clinical testing
• Assist with preparation and custom mixing of allergy medications as applicable
• Process medication refill requests under provider direction
• Respond to patient calls and clinical inquiries
• Schedule patients and assist with front-office responsibilities when needed
• Use Tebra (Kareo) for patient documentation, scheduling, and other clinical workflows
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas
• Follow infection-control, OSHA, HIPAA, and patient-safety protocols
• Work collaboratively with providers, Medical Assistants, and front-office staff to maintain efficient patient flow

Qualifications

Required:

• Medical Assistant training and/or relevant Medical Assistant experience
• Strong patient-care and communication skills
• Ability to obtain accurate medical histories and document information appropriately
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with computers and electronic health records
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy medical-office environment
• Reliable, professional, respectful, and team-oriented
• Ability to reliably commute to Burbank, CA
• Ability to make a minimum two-year commitment to the position

Strongly Preferred:

• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
• Allergy/Immunology or other specialty medical-office experience
• Experience administering injections and performing or assisting with clinical testing
• Experience with skin testing, patch testing, spirometry, food/drug challenges, or allergy injections
• Experience with medication refills and patient telephone communication
• Experience with Tebra/Kareo or another electronic health record system
• A stable employment history demonstrating reliability and commitment to previous employers
