Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a field-based Patient Access Manager to cover Louisville, KY and surrounding areas. You will educate providers and staff on product-specific access programs and assist with payer-related reimbursement needs to improve patient pull-through.

The role requires 3–5+ years in third-party reimbursement or pharma, with buy-and-bill experience and strong collaboration across teams. Travel 60-80% within the territory and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (business and/or biological science preferred; advanced degree preferred).
• 3–5+ years’ experience in third-party reimbursement or pharma (managed care, clinical support, or sales).
• Specialty pharmacy buy-and-bill experience; coding/billing and office support program experience.
• Prior account management/complex accounts experience (payer landscape, high patient volume, large systems).
• Knowledge of managed care and government/federal payer sectors and integrated delivery networks.
• Team collaboration skills; reside within territory and ability to travel; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support patient access within assigned accounts by providing proactive, face-to-face education on product-specific programs to providers and staff.
• Analyze and solve access/reimbursement problems involving payer policies (utilization management, denials, appeals), drug acquisition/inventory, and patient/practice reimbursement (co-pay, administration, drug claims).
• Interface with the Patient Support Center (hub) for case management: tracking cases, issue resolution, reimbursement support, and educating office staff.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to share customer access/reimbursement insights and barriers.
• Follow company policies and handle Patient Identifiable Information (PII) in compliance with HIPAA and internal requirements.
