Job summary

Talan in Houston is seeking a Business Analyst - Power/Energy - Aligne Specialist. The role supports a client in the power and energy sector, focusing on transitioning Aligne to Orchestrade and delivering day-to-day production support.

You will serve as a functional/technical liaison among trading desks, risk, finance, and IT, handling production support, configuration, and project-driven platform changes within an Agile framework.

Qualifications

• Hands-on configuration or upgrade experience with FIS Aligne.
• Deep knowledge of North American power, natural gas, NGLs, renewables, or refined product markets.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with UAT coordination, defect tracking, data analysis, and system validation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with different stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working in Agile or project-based environments is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Assist with User Acceptance Testing including test execution and defect tracking.

• Prepare meeting agendas, capture notes, and follow up on action items.

Location: Houston, Texas, (Hybrid - at least 3 days onsite/week)

We are looking for an Business Analyst - Power/Energy - Aligne Specialist to join our team as a consultant and support one of our clients in the power and energy industry.

The consultant will play a key role in supporting the transition from Aligne to Orchestrade, providing day to day production and operational support throughout the implementation.

As a functional and technical subject matter expertise for the FIS Aligne Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platform, the consultant will act as a primary liaison between frontend commercial trading desks, middle-office risk management, backend financial accounting, and internal IT delivery teams. The position is responsible for day-to-day production support, system configuration, functional specifications mapping, and driving critical platform transformations or version upgrades.
