Job summary

Centalion is seeking a Senior Power Business Analyst in Houston to lead business analysis for Power Desk Front-to-Back initiatives within a large IT program. You will liaise with Traders, Risk/Quants, OPS and other business areas, guide BAs through a high-pressure environment, and work with a 100+ person IT program focused on expanding Trading Systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with ETRM/CTRM systems (QA, Support, in-house development)
• Strong knowledge of Power products and North American derivatives
• Proficient in SQL and data reporting
• Experience with API and FIX market data feeds
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor teams
• Excellent communication, especially to non-technical users
• Strong customer service orientation and global user support
• Fluent English spoken and written

Responsibilities

• Support the desk to deliver all key features for Power Desk Front-to-Back including system setup, upgrades, UAT, bug prioritization and interface building
• Enhance and support in-house applications integrated with ETRMs
• Collaborate with developers and vendors on integration items, design, testing and post-deployment support
• Provide 2nd level support to worldwide users and escalate when needed
• Demonstrate service-oriented approach and maintain high customer satisfaction
• Manage client expectations and assist IT BM with reporting and backlog prioritization
• Document technical architecture, user guides, and handover to Support team
• Train 1st level support and act as 2nd level on modules managed

Main relationships

Key Tasks

Business Analysis

• Support the desk to deliver all key features for the Power Desk Front-to-Back (System setup, Enhancements, System upgrades, UAT, bugs prioritization, testing, building new interfaces)
• Enhance and support in-house applications integrated with ETRMs
• Work together with a dedicated team developers to his/her stream as well as with Vendors
• Act as a 2nd level Support to worldwide users during their day-to-day tasks, escalte support when required to the Vendors or development team and ensure following-up with them
• Demonstrate service-oriented approach, an understanding of the business needs and be able to achieve and maintain high customer satisfaction ratings
• Manage client expectations effectively.
• Support the IT BM in reporting and backlog prioritization

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Gather requirements across the group’s location and departments
• Run workshops with Business and IT
• Set up and model of new Power desk activities in OATI applications (webTrader, webCTRM) especially regarding power scheduling (in collaboration with traders, infrastructure, security, DBA and development teams)
• Enhance surrounding integration (exchange, pricer..)
• Write and maintain functional specifications (in DevOps)
• Work closely with developers on integration items, including design, testing and post-deployment support
• Report to the IT BM progress of your deliveries
• Document technical architecture, user guides, and handover to the Support team
• Train 1st level support and act as a 2nd level support on the modules you will be responsible for

Essential Qualifications, Skills And Experience

• Formal education, ideally at University level or equivalent level of certification and experience.
• Experience in OATI applications, especially webTrader
• At least 8 years working hands-on on an ETRM or CTRM as a Business Analysts or Application Support (QA, Support, In-House Development, working with Vendors)
• Good knowledge of Power Products and Derivatives on North American market
• Strong SQL, understanding of database design and Report generation within business applications
• Experience in working with API, FIX messages, especially with market data feeds from exchanges like ICE, CME, NODAL
• Experience of providing excellent Customer Service on a local and global user base.
• Strong Leader.
• Team player with ability to exercise flexibility, demonstrate initiative to ensure the business needs are met in a proactive manner with minimum supervision.
• Good interpersonal skills, especially communication, able to communicate technical solutions to non-technical users, in a multi cultured working environment and able to cope in stressful/difficult/conflict situations in a serviced oriented manner.
• Highly organized and possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Be self-motivated and creative and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• General skills in ICT technologies.

Desirable Skills And Experience

• Certifications/experience on any of the following will be very useful: Software design, development and testing methodologies / concepts, Project management, ITIL., Technical certification
• Knowledge of Power queries and VBA
• Familiar with Pricers/Modelling.

Employment Contract

• This is for a regular/permanent full-time position, based in Houston, which is subject to a three-month probation period.
• Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications.
