Job summary

Wintermute in New York is seeking an Algorithmic Trader with strong Python skills, quantitative mindset and a curiosity about algorithmic trading, high-frequency trading and liquidity provision. You will own P&L-impacting trading projects from early stages, working with senior traders and developers across our global team.

After training, you’ll gain independence and responsibility, analyze large datasets, develop and improve strategies, and build tools to boost trading performance.

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills with 1–3 years of coding experience.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience or exceptional recent graduates.
• Strong trading intuition and interest in algorithmic trading, high-frequency trading.
• Interest in crypto, blockchain and DeFi is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Improve and optimize existing trading strategies.
• Research and develop new trading strategies and products.
• Analyze large volumes of market and transaction data to identify opportunities.
• Build tools to improve trading performance and decision-making.
• Monitor and adapt to changing market conditions.
• Take ownership of projects with direct impact on P&L.
• Collaborate with traders, developers and the wider management team.
