Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems- Missile Defense Integration seeks a Software Engineer (Algorithm) to join a diverse team in Huntsville, AL. The role emphasizes Java-based software development within an agile environment and requires a current DoD Secret clearance.

Expect design artifact creation, reviews, and active code testing in a on-site setting. The position supports C2BMC for Missile Defense with emphasis on algorithmic development, MATLAB optional skills, and collaboration across multiple

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• Applicants must have a current, active DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application
• Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs
• Experience with full life-cycle development, Java application development or OO development, Unix/Linux, mathematical algorithms, Agile development, DevSecOps, and systems integration
• Experience in designing and developing complex mathematical algorithms
• Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and adapt to a dynamic environment
• Collaborating with Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, Deployment, and Warfighter Support teams

Responsibilities

• Generate software design artifacts as part of the C2BMC program
• Implement Java-based software changes and support design and code reviews
• Support software testing and resolution of issues arising from testing
• Present developed designs and participate in agile planning and execution
