Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Software Engineer (26-359) to join a team that builds critical defense systems. This on-site role requires a current DoD Secret clearance and Java/J2EE experience, with focus on C2BMC-related applications and enterprise-grade software.

You will analyze, code, test, and integrate software across multiple domains, collaborating with diverse professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree with 0 years; or 6 years of relevant work experience as alternative.
• Active DoD-issued Secret security clearance is required to start.
• Java/J2EE experience or OO development experience; knowledge of C++ desired.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for in-depth analysis and technical support for systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
• Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
• Assists with the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
• Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the operating system's overall efficiency
• Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operational automation
• Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may need minor guidance in other phases
• Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasks
