Areté is seeking an entry- or mid-level Scientist (Algorithm Developer) in Northridge, CA. You will join a team of scientists and engineers to develop physics-based models, create simulation software, analyze data, and prototype new algorithms.

The role emphasizes collaboration and solving challenging technical problems in a security-focused environment. Preferred candidates have strong math/physical science backgrounds and experience in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in STEM discipline.
• Strong background in mathematics and physical sciences.
• Significant experience programming in Python, C/C++, MATLAB or similar languages.
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with small teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in the office 100%.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based models and simulation software.
• Analyze simulated and real-world data and implement algorithms.
• Prototype enhancements to existing algorithms.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers across disciplines.
• Explore areas such as sensor characterization, signal/image processing, ML/CV.
