Job summary

Areté seeks a Software Engineer (Scientific Computing) in Northridge, CA to transform signal and image processing algorithms into robust software. You will work with scientists to design, develop, and test software from prototype to operations, emphasizing performance on real data.

Bachelor-level degree in physics, math, or engineering, plus strong Python (numpy/scipy/pandas) and C/C++ skills, are required. On-site work and security clearance eligibility are essential.

Qualifications

• College degree in mathematics, physics, or engineering with a focus on scientific computing.
• Exposure to college level physics, math, and signal/image processing techniques.
• Desire to work on scientific projects and learn physics, math, and signal processing.
• Strong Python programming with numpy/scipy/pandas; strong C/C++ skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work onsite in the Northridge, CA office; ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Transform advanced signal and image processing algorithms from Python to robust software for operations.
• Design, develop, analyze, and test software applications from prototype to operations.
• Assess algorithm performance on real-world data and document results via reports or commented code.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers in a team-oriented environment.
