Job summary

Areté is seeking an entry- to mid-level Scientist (Algorithm Developer) in Northridge, CA to join a team of scientists and engineers working on physics-based modeling, simulations, and data analysis. The role involves developing models, creating software, and prototyping algorithms with a focus on national security applications.

Ideal candidates hold a BS/MS in a STEM field, strong math/physics background, and solid programming experience in Python, C/C++, and MATLAB.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates will have a BS or MS in a STEM discipline.
• Strong background in mathematics and physical sciences.
• Significant experience programming in Python, C/C++, MATLAB or similar languages.
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with small teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in the office 100%.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based models and simulations.
• Create simulation software and analyze data (simulated or real-world).
• Prototype new algorithms or enhancements to existing ones.
