Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment. The OT will evaluate patients, develop plans of care, and work in an acute care setting with 36 hours per week and 9-hour day shifts.

Requirements include 1 year of OT experience (6 months may be considered for exceptional candidates), BLS, NBCOT-OTR, and state licensure. Travel positions offer weekly pay and benefits through TotalMed Allied.

Qualifications

• 1 year OT experience preferred; 6 months may be considered for exceptional candidates.
• Current BLS certification.
• NBCOT-OTR national certification with state licensure.
• Solid knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history and observe tasks to assess needs.
• Develop and implement a plan of care with specific goals.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and functional tasks.
• Evaluate home or workplace and suggest improvements.
• Educate family and employer on care and accommodations.
• Recommend and instruct on use of assistive equipment.
• Document patient activities and progress per guidelines.
