Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC in Albany, GA is hiring Maintenance Technicians for our Corrugated facility. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems, and installing drives and gears. Flexible to work any shift including overtime, with relocation incentives available. You will read schematics, follow safety protocols, and support production goals in a high-volume plant.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of rotary machinery industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors and electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Experience reading technical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to identify defects before failure.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment per plant policies and procedures.
• Install and repair drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines and procedures.
• Contribute to meeting production, waste and quality goals via maintenance programs.
• Wear appropriate safety gear and follow safety rules.
• Operate in a loud, hot, humid, dusty, high-volume environment.
• Perform lifting, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling tasks.

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring Maintenance Technicians to join our Corrugated facility in Albany, GA! This position is eligible for relocation incentives.

Salary

• Starting at $28.71-$35.60 (based on skill and experience)
• You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the plant.

Shift

Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Shift Hours

• 2-2-3 Rotation
• 12-hour shift
• 7:00a - 7:00p
• 7:00p - 7:00a

What You Will Do

• Completing mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities to identify and correct mechanical defects before they fail.
• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems, repairing and maintaining all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Installing and repairing mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Helping to meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals through a quality maintenance program
• Maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
• Working in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy and high volume environment.
• Performing tasks such as lifting, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Two (2) years or more of rotary machinery industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors and electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Experience reading technical drawings and schematics.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry
• Experience programming PLCs
• Experience with a manual lathe and milling machine
• Experience working with 240/480-volt 3 Phase motors
• Experience with MIG, TIG, Arc welding
