Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium seeks a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver professional nursing care across the lifespan in Alaska facilities. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while promoting safety, cultural sensitivity, and patient-centered service.

Join an interdisciplinary team, administer medications, educate patients and families, and support care coordination. An Alaska RN license, BLS, and ability to work in a fast-paced setting are required;

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current Alaska Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
  • High-risk competency within 3 months of hire and annually.
  • All required specialty or advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC) obtained within six (6) months of hire, depending on specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing interventions and patient responses.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions or escalation of care.
  • Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.
  • Deliver culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
  • Advocate for patient care and assist patients in navigating the healthcare system.
  • Adhere to regulatory, safety, and infection prevention requirements; participate in quality and performance-improvement activities.
  • Maintain required competencies and certifications.
  • Report adverse events, near misses, and unsafe conditions per policy.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork.
  • Provide guidance and delegation to ancillary staff; support orientation, mentoring, and education of staff, students, and peers.
  • Float to other departments or assignments as needed.
