Job summary

SEARHC in Sitka, Alaska is seeking Registered Nurses for diverse departments (LTC, ED, Med/Surg, L&D, Case Management). The RN coordinates and delivers nursing care across ages, following orders, standards, and policies while maintaining patient safety and independent judgement.

Responsibilities include supervision of CNA/Tech, collaboration with managers, and adherence to infection control. Requires Alaska RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS; TNCC preferred for ED.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN/ADN/Diploma).
• Current unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another US state.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC preferred/required for ED nurses.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and high-risk competency within 3 months and yearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and supervise subordinates for all patients during shifts.
• Maintain safe nursing services and establish standards of care and policies.
• Interpret policies to staff, patients, families, and visitors as needed.
• Ensure infection control procedures and patient rights are protected.
• Maintain accurate charting and nurse notes; notify physicians of changes.
• Assist in training department staff and coordinate with CNO/DON.
