Job summary

ConocoPhillips in Alaska is offering an Operator Apprenticeship Program for entry-level candidates. The program progresses through three phases with mentorship and hands-on field exposure at Alpine or Kuparuk, on a 2-week on / 2-week off schedule.

Phase progression depends on performance; the role emphasizes safety, learning, and potential future employment as an Operator. Applicants must be local, with an associate degree in Process Technology and a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and enrolled in/process technology degree near completion.
  • Completion of an Associate degree in Process Technology or equivalent within the last three years.
  • Willing to work a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation in a remote-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in health, safety, and environmental programs and processes.
  • Practice emergency preparedness and report incidents and near-misses.
  • Participate in peer discussions and safety conversations.
  • Attend operations toolbox and safety meetings.
  • Assist with rounds, readings, surveillance and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Witness and assist in energy isolation and control of work processes.
  • Transmit information clearly and effectively.
  • Complete all apprentice training and competency requirements.
  • Maintain radio etiquette and concise communication.
  • Engage in conversations to learn and progress to Safety Leader.
  • Advance through the phases toward future operator roles.
