Job summary

The Walsh Group offers an internship program in Alaska that prepares you for leadership positions on and off the jobsite. You will gain hands-on experience in project engineering and field management by working on sites or in the office, across estimating and preconstruction tasks.

Interns learn multiple career paths, with a chance to become a full-time employee after college. Roles involve coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, risk and schedule management, and document control

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Willing to work a 12-week schedule preferred.
• Relocation may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting project manager or field supervision staff with project coordination.
• Estimating cost for change orders.
• Soliciting bidders and coordinate subcontractor activity.
• Scheduling of various contracts and materials.
• Document control.
• Coordination of subcontractors.
• Safety management.
• Participation in team meetings.
• Writing RFIs, submittals, and assisting in change orders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred
