Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking interns for Alaska to gain leadership experience on job sites or in offices. Interns will be matched to positions in project engineering and field management, traveling across the United States and across divisions to gain hands-on experience and set the path after graduation.

Interns will assist in coordinating projects, estimating costs for changes, soliciting bidders, and coordinating subcontractors, while learning safety management and participating in team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist project manager or field supervision with project coordination.
• Estimate costs for change orders.
• Solicit bidders and coordinate subcontractor activity.
• Schedule various contracts and materials.
• Maintain document control.
• Coordinate subcontractors.
• Support safety management.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Write RFIs and submittals, assist in change orders.

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking Interns for Alaska.

Our internship program will prepare you for leadership positions both on and off the jobsite. Our program allows you to travel across the United States and through operational divisions to gain hands‑on experience in project engineering and field management. We carefully match you with positions related to your academic and career goals, setting you up for the right career path after graduation. Our interns work on jobsites or in the office helping with pursuits in our estimating and preconstruction departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Internswill learn about multiple career paths in our company, and will be trained to become a full-time employee after college graduation. Some duties and responsibilities include:

• Assisting project manager or field supervision staff with project coordination


• Estimating cost for change orders


• Soliciting bidders and coordinate subcontractor activity


• Scheduling of various contracts and materials


• Document control


• Coordination of subcontractors


• Safety management


• Participation in team meetings


• Writing RFIs, submittals, and assisting in change orders

QUALIFICATIONS

• Seeking a bachelor’s degree is preferred


• The ability to work a 12-week work schedule is preferred


• Specific roles may require relocation
