Job summary

The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western is offering internships in Alaska to help develop leadership skills on and off the jobsite. Interns will gain hands-on experience in project engineering, field management and offices activities across divisions, with opportunities to travel across the United States.

Selected interns will work on-site in Alaska, assisting project managers, estimators and field teams, and may progress to full-time roles after graduation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 12-week work schedule is typical for interns.
• Duties include assisting with project coordination and documentation.
• A willingness to relocate may be required for certain roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist project manager or field supervision staff with coordination.
• Estimate costs for change orders.
• Solicit bidders and coordinate subcontractor activity.
• Schedule contracts and materials; manage document control.
• Coordinate subcontractors and safety planning.
• Participate in team meetings; write RFIs and submittals.

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking Interns for Alaska. Our internship program will prepare you for leadership positions both on and off the jobsite. Our program allows you to travel across the United States and through operational divisions to gain hands-on experience in project engineering and field management. We carefully match you with positions related to your academic and career goals, setting you up for the right career path after graduation. Our interns work on jobsites or in the office helping with pursuits in our estimating and preconstruction departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interns will learn about multiple career paths in our company, and will be trained to become a full-time employee after college graduation.

• Assisting project manager or field supervision staff with project coordination
• Estimating cost for change orders
• Soliciting bidders and coordinate subcontractor activity
• Scheduling of various contracts and materials
• Document control
• Coordination of subcontractors
• Safety management
• Participation in team meetings
• Writing RFIs, submittals, and assisting in change orders

QUALIFICATIONS

Seeking a bachelor’s degree is preferred The ability to work a 12-week work schedule is preferred Specific roles may require relocation
