Job summary

UMIAQ Design is seeking a Survey Instrument Person to support field survey projects at Alpine, North-Slope, Alaska. The role involves working on a two-person team to collect field data for maps, plans, and construction documents, often year-round in the field with GPS and leveling equipment.

The team collaborates in an Alpine office setting and on rotation; the candidate will assist the Party Chief with staking, measuring, and field verification tasks in remote locations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering technology, or a related field, or three years of relevant field experience.
• Experience collecting field data for maps, plans, and construction documents.
• Ability to work year-round in field conditions in Alaska.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and maintain survey equipment in the field.
• Ensure instruments function properly and adjust for accurate readings.
• Use GPS systems to position markers and benchmarks.
