Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Alaska Teacher Certificate or Type M Certificate required or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
• CTE experience preferred; ACE, PBIS, and Restorative Circles knowledge preferred.
• Inupiaq language, history & culture experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain competency in subject matter areas of certification and assignment; training provided for subjects outside prep area.
• Use assessment data to plan programs addressing identified student needs; adjust based on progress.
• Foster cooperative relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members; demonstrate flexibility and openness.
• Support District Goals as defined in the Strategic Plan.
• Develop awareness of local culture and provide bicultural or multicultural instruction.
