Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education required; Master's degree preferred.
• Alaska Teacher Certificate or Type M Certificate required or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
• CTE experience preferred.
• Knowledge & experience with ACE, PBIS, and Restorative Circles preferred.
• Inupiaq, Language, History & Culture experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain competency in subject matter areas of certification and assignment.
• Employ appropriate assessment methods to identify student proficiency and plan programs using achievement data.
• Foster harmony with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Promote NSBSD goals as defined in the Board of Education Strategic Plan.
• Develop bicultural/multicultural instruction reflecting local culture.
• Abide by the code of ethics and professional teaching standards.
• Write and submit weekly lesson plans to the QLC Coordinator and maintain digital copies.
• Adhere to all District policies and regulations.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
