Job summary

Norcomm 911 is seeking an Alarm Technician to install, program, maintain and repair fire and police alarm systems. The role involves wiring, testing, and troubleshooting per electrical codes and NFPA standards.

The technician will also respond to on-call needs and demonstrate systems to customers. Responsibilities include diagnosing problems, feeding cables, mounting transceivers, and ensuring proper function of backup power and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma with 3 years experience in electronic field; NFPA knowledge desirable.
• Skills: Read and comprehend instructions, write simple correspondence, communicate with customers and colleagues.
• Requirements: Clean driving record and PERC Certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, or repair alarm systems and related equipment following blueprints and plans.
• Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or damaged insulation.
• Mount, test, and wire wireless transceivers and conductors to control panels and sensors.
• Troubleshoot 9-1-1 equipment and power supplies; perform on-call rotation in a 24x7 environment.
