Job summary

Kidz2Leaders, a faith-based nonprofit, is expanding to Alabama. The Development Director, Alabama will be the organization’s senior representative in Alabama, building fundraising, partnerships, and local visibility to secure growth in a new market.

This role requires a relationship-oriented leader who can engage philanthropic, corporate, and civic networks. As the first local hire, you will collaborate with the Atlanta-based team, manage the Alabama development budget, and help launch long-term

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of nonprofit or ministry development experience.
• Strong background in fundraising, development, or sales.
• Proven experience contributing to a growing initiative, team, program, or organization.
• Experience stewarding many relationships including donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
• Deep understanding of the Birmingham business and philanthropic communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop fundraising strategies and campaigns to meet local budget goals.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Transfer relationships from the Expansion Director and grow the portfolio.
• Develop and manage a local advisory board of 6–8 members.
• Establish Kidz2Leaders’s presence within Birmingham’s philanthropic and civic communities.
• Represent Kidz2Leaders at meetings and events.
• Build partnerships with churches, schools, and community organizations to create volunteer pipelines.
• Support volunteer training with the Atlanta program team.
• Manage the Alabama development budgets and report progress.
• Track fundraising progress and ensure CRM-record keeping.
• Coordinate with the Atlanta program team for Alabama programming.
• Maintain communication with the Atlanta team and participate in Alabama programming.
