Job summary

Stellar Living is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant Med Tech to provide ADL and IADL support to residents, following the Individual Service Plan. The role includes assisting with daily activities, taking vital signs, and facilitating participation in wellness programs.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to read, write, and speak English. CNA certification is preferred; training and supervision are provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) per the Individual Resident Service Plan.
• Record observations and changes in residents’ condition and report promptly.
• Record medication administration and adhere to company policies.
• Monitor vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and intake/output as directed.
• Support participation in programs for safety, rehab and wellness, and social activities.
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and communicate with the care team.
• Maintain a courteous and professional attitude with families, residents, and coworkers.
• Follow infection control and workplace safety procedures and HIPAA regulations.

Job description

OBJECTIVE:

Provides Activities of daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) services to residents in accordance with the Individual Service Plan (ISP). Assistance includes either physical assistance or standby supervision. Provides support to new resident assistants. May provide some laundry and housekeeping tasks. May act as shift leader as established by community standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or three (3) months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and caregiver experience desired.
• Preferred to have a valid, unrestricted certification in the state (CNA desired) and maintain CEU’s as required by the State.
• CPR and First Aid certification or successfully achieved within 30 days of employment if required by State Standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. 1. Assist resident with all personal care skills (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) and services in accordance with Individual Resident Service Plan, using safe, courteous and effective standards of practice.
2. 2. Makes appropriate observations about resident’s condition in event interaction with resident and records changes in resident’s condition in a timely manner or reports changes to the H &W Director, Nurse or designated charge person immediately. 3

4. 4. Assists in recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
5. 5. Aid in the delivery of specific participation in programs, such as fall prevention, safety, rehab and wellness, exercise and others as identified, which will provide entertainment, socialization to all residents.
