Job summary

SkyChefs in San Francisco is seeking an Operations Manager (Tower/Dock) to oversee tower coordination and airside logistics for our airline partners at the San Francisco facility. You will lead day-to-day ground operations, manage drivers and dispatchers, and ensure on-time performance while enforcing safety and regulatory compliance with FAA, TSA, DOT, FDA, USDA, and HACCP.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of leadership experience in airline operations, airport logistics, or transportation dispatch.
• Direct experience collaborating with airline control towers, flight schedules, and airside service delivery.
• Strong leadership presence—clear, assertive and respectful communication with diverse teams.
• Familiarity with airport ramp procedures, tarmac operations, and ground equipment management.
• Proficiency in routing or fleet software such as VPS, Telematics or TMS.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between SkyChefs and airline tower teams for flight coordination and catering delivery.
• Lead day-to-day ground operations, including ramp safety, vehicle dispatch, and time-critical loading near aircraft.
• Develop and supervise a team of drivers, dispatchers, and logistics personnel with accountability and real-time decision making.
• Monitor on-time performance (OTP) and resolve issues in flight catering coordination and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with airport safety, FAA, TSA, DOT, FDA, USDA, HACCP regulations.
• Collaborate with airline tower control, flight operations, and production teams to maintain delivery windows.
• Oversee equipment availability, fleet readiness, and scheduling for airside vehicle routing.
