Job summary

Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority is seeking a Maintenance Specialist, Airside to operate vehicles and heavy equipment across 4,000+ acres, performing turf and pavement management, snow removal, and airfield maintenance. You will work on and off the airfield, coordinating with ATC and other departments to keep operations safe and compliant.

The role requires CDL and FAA Part 139 knowledge, with schedule shifts 6:00 am–2:30 pm and willingness for after-hours work.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years of heavy equipment operation experience or related military experience.
  • Valid Class B CDL within 1 year; Secure ramp driving certification within 180 days; Forklift certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Operates vehicles, machinery, and equipment to perform maintenance, turf and pavement management, snow removal, and general airport services.
  • Ensure safe operation in congested areas and adverse weather on runways, taxiways, and movement areas.
  • Support FAA Part 139 compliance and annual training; perform patrols, closures, and emergency operations.
  • Maintain airfield communications with ATC and ramp towers; respond to emergencies and weather incidents.
  • Provide back-up support to other maintenance departments and conduct basic vehicle and engine maintenance.
