The City of Joplin, MO, seeks a diligent Airport Law Enforcement Officer to perform general and specialized security duties at the Joplin Regional Airport. You will work under the Airport Manager, enforcing laws and assisting the traveling public.

Daily tasks include enforcing TSA/FAA regulations, patrolling facilities, issuing citations, and coordinating with the Joplin Police Department. Strong communication and report-writing are essential.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of full-time law enforcement experience.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Missouri POST certification Class A or B required.
• Must be 21 years of age; US citizen; no felony convictions.

Responsabilidades

• Enforce federal, state, city laws and TSA/FAA regulations at the airport.
• Monitor DHS/TSA information and assist TSA screening as needed.
• Issue citations, make arrests, and testify in court.
• Patrol airport facilities and control access per TSA and FAA rules.
• Prepare clear written and oral reports; maintain records.
• Coordinate with Joplin Police Department on qualifications and training.
• Provide information services to tenants and traveling public; assist with security matters.
• Respond to emergencies; provide first aid/CPR.
• Assist other officers in handling threats to safety of persons and property.
