Job summary

The City of Houston is seeking an Airport Operations Supervisor for the Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). The role leads the Security – Regulatory team, ensuring compliance with FAA/ TSA guidance, local regulations, and airport policies while directing staff and inspections across both airside and landside operations.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least four years in airport operations or security, with strong leadership, communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Airway Science, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in airport operations, security or safety.
• Knowledge of Airport Security Plan and TSA rules and regulations is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve operational, safety and security concerns by inspecting airport facilities and monitoring communications.
• Supervise operations activities and coordinate with maintenance crews to ensure safe aircraft areas.
• Develop and implement operating rules, regulations and procedures to ensure airport safety and compliance.
• Oversee the Communications Center during designated hours and inform staff of important airfield conditions.
• Schedule, train and evaluate operational/security staff and manage emergencies per the Airport Emergency Plan.
