United Ground Express, Inc. is hiring at MEM Memphis International Airport for a baggage handler. You will load baggage and cargo, operate tugs and belt loaders, clean aircraft interiors, and assist with securing aircraft for the next flight.

The role requires lifting up to 70 lbs, long shifts, outdoor work in all weather, and a valid driver's license. Training on FAA/airport procedures is provided, with opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must acquire and maintain credentials vital for the position including fingerprint clearance, local airport badging, and background check.
• Successful completion of pre-employment process which may include; drug screen, hearing and vision check.
• Available to work any shift; day or night, weekends, and holidays; overtime may be required.
• Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and new technologies.
• Must be able to use radio electronic devices to communicate with co-workers or flight crew.
• Must read, write, and understand English fluently.
• Must be able to carry, bend, lift and turn with bags weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Able to perform physical activities including pushing, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in tight spaces.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsabilités

• Lift baggage, boxes, or cargo up to 70 lbs throughout shift.
• Push/pull loaded and empty carts during loading/unloading operations.
• Ascend/descend jet-way stairs while carrying baggage.
• Drive ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and bag carts.
• Clean interior and service aircraft lavatories.
• Read and interpret load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labels.
• Prepare and secure aircraft for the next flight.
• Ensure compliance with United and FAA regulations."
• Use radio devices to communicate with co-workers or flight crew.
• Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions.
