Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority invites applicants for the Plumber-Pipefitter Apprentice role. This non-career, term position supports the Engineering and Maintenance Department at either Reagan National (DCA) or Dulles (IAD) airports.

You will participate in a state-approved Trades Apprentice Employment Program, learning to install pipes and equipment under supervision while progressing toward journey-level status.

Qualifications

• Ability to drive a pick-up truck and learn to use similar vehicle with tools and parts.
• Ability to speak and write effectively.
• Skill in using a computer and computerized work order/time attendance system.

Responsibilities

• Learn to install pipes, plumbing and related equipment from basic to proficient levels.
• Assist journey level plumbers with tool transport and site prep, maintaining safety and cleanliness.
• Assist in installing and repairing pumps, pipes, and fixtures and reading schematics.
• Perform related duties including stock handling, and routine maintenance.
