Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority seeks a Plumber-Pipefitter Apprentice to join the Trades Apprentice Employment Program at Ronald Reagan National Airport or Dulles Airport. You will train on-the-job and in class, learning to install and repair piping and plumbing systems under supervision, with progression toward journey-level status.

The role involves operating tools, reading schematics, maintaining safety, and supporting preventive maintenance tasks in an airport environment.

Qualifications

Must be 18+ years old at hire date.
Eligible to work in the United States.
Willingness to learn plumbing-pipefitting trade within an apprenticeship program.
Capable of operating a pickup truck and similar vehicle.
Ability to follow safety rules and wear PPE.
Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Computer use for work orders and time tracking.
Ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

Learn to install pipes, plumbing and related equipment from basic to proficient levels.
Assist journey-level plumbers to assemble and transport tools and materials.
Use diagrams, schematics, and manuals to perform tasks.
Help prepare and maintain work orders and preventive maintenance entries.
Drive to job sites on airport grounds to perform assigned work.
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work area.
