JFK International in New York is seeking an Intern, Operations to support queue management across TSA checkpoints, CBP screening, and airline check-in areas, ensuring a safe, efficient operation and smooth passenger flow.

Selected for a 3 or 6 month term, you must be enrolled as a student and available for 20-28 hours per week. You will liaise with airline customers and government agencies, handle incident reports, and assist with daily terminal operations in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Open to students enrolled and attending classes during the internship; official school schedule required.
• Juniors and Seniors are preferred.
• Ability to prioritize, track, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to function well under stressful conditions.
• Able to pass medical screening and background checks for obtaining airport ID.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Manages the passenger queues in TSA Security Checkpoint, CBP screening, and check-in areas, ensuring smooth flow and crowd control.
• Liaison with airline customers and government agencies.
• Responds to incidents/accidents, conducts investigations as necessary, and prepares medical/incident reports.
• Provides customer service and promotes a safe environment for passengers and employees.
• Request service calls as needed for maintenance/cleanliness/IT issues.
• Trained and assigned to work as a Terminal Supervisor during the internship.
• Monitors and coordinates all landside terminal operations functions.
• Manages and executes daily operational plans.
• Initiates and receives communications via phone/radio/computerized systems and takes action per procedures.
• Supervise, direct, and coordinate with outsourced contracted staff.
• Conducts daily performance evaluations/inspections/audits and maintains records.
• Conducts on-the-job training as needed.
• Supports management staff as needed.
