JFK International Air Terminal (JFKIAT) is offering an Intern, Operations position in New York. You will help manage queues at TSA/CBP and airline check-in, ensuring safety, order and customer focus while coordinating with partners and staff.

The internship is 3 or 6 months, non-exempt, with a $22.00 per hour rate, requiring students who can work mornings or afternoons and sometimes weekends.

Qualifications

• Open to students enrolled and attending classes during the internship.
• Juniors and Seniors preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure.
• Clear communication and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Manages passenger queues at CBP/TSA and check-in areas, maintains flow and crowd control.
• Liaison with airline customers and government agencies.
• Responds to incidents and prepares incident reports.
• Provides customer service and maintains a safe environment.
• Supports maintenance, cleanliness and IT issue requests as needed.
• Trained to work as a Terminal Supervisor (6-month internship).
• Monitors landside terminal operations and coordinates contracted staff.
• Executes daily operational plans and documents activity.
• Communicates via phone/radio/computer systems and takes action.
• Supervise and evaluate daily performance of staff.
• Conducts on-the-job training and supports management staff.
